disturbing

so, i was checking the news after lunch and there was a link to a story about yet another animal born with two faces (even freakier pic attached to that story). ick. this one is a pig and it's being hailed as a sign of fertility in china. weird. it makes me sad to see these poor freakish mutant animals (very sympathetic description, no?). there have been several of them in the past few months. i'm hoping that we only keep seeing these stories because information, including pictures is much more easily and quickly dispersed via the internet than in previous mediums, rather than there being some big surge in frequency that this sort of thing is happening (including the seven legged intersex deer that some dude in wisconsin hit with his truck then ate - yum ... *sigh*). signs of the apocalypse?
