came across this via notmartha. it shows you a quick and easy way to get a picture to hang exactly where you want it. (click the image to go to the page with verbal directions if you prefer reading to pictures.) i feel sort of foolish after seeing this and can't imagine why i didn't think of it before. my approach up until now (i'm ashamed to say) has been largely based on trial and error. (i know - how very scientific/mathematical of me...) anyway, thought i'd share so others don't have to have "mistake" holes hidden behind the pictures on their walls. never again!! (incoming attempt to redeem myself - at least sort of...) i did use a similar technique for the arrangement of mirrors on my living room wall, though the nail hole piece was irrelevant as i used the 3m command strip thingys to hang them.
